The association “Keepers of Heritage—A Step Through Time” is dedicated to preserving, researching, and presenting cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage.
We see heritage not simply as a record of the past, but as part of who we are and a way of better understanding the people, places, and times that have shaped us. Our goal is to keep these stories alive, making them accessible and meaningful to generations to come.

“Dear friends,
We live in a time of profound change. The world around us is evolving, as are the ways we live, the values we hold, and the perspectives through which we understand our place in it. As old patterns give way to new ones, it becomes increasingly important to remain connected to what has shaped us. To remember where we come from, because without that connection, how can we truly know where we are going or who we want to become?”
Our Values
Authenticity
We respect the original meaning and spirit of the heritage we research and present, without altering its essence for the sake of effect.
Knowledge
We approach every project with care and responsibility, drawing on thorough research, reliable sources, and relevant expertise.
Collaboration
Heritage is a shared value. We bring together experts, institutions, artists, and enthusiasts because we believe that, together, we can preserve more.
Future
We want what we explore and document today to remain alive, accessible, meaningful, and relevant to those who come after us.
Our association brings together people with diverse knowledge, experience, and interests, united by a shared commitment to preserving and presenting cultural heritage in contemporary ways. Together, we develop projects that connect culture, research, creativity, and fresh perspectives.
Aleksandra Kožul, President and Founder
„Heritage is not only about where we come from. It can also help us understand who we are, what matters to us, and what we want to leave for future generations. For me, preserving heritage is a way of keeping that connection alive.“
Marina Nićiforović, Board Member and Program Coordinator
„Every story we preserve leaves a trace. When it finds its way to people, it becomes more than a memory. It continues to live through conversations, experiences, and what we pass on to others. That is our step through time.“
Milica Marković, Board Member and Project Coordinator
„I believe heritage is best preserved when it becomes something people can discover, understand, and experience. Through our projects, I want to bring together research, contemporary approaches, and work in the field so that what we preserve can continue to live in the future.“
Marija Stepanović Dinić, Founder and Board Member
„Understanding ourselves begins with understanding our roots. Our identity is shaped by family, culture, language, customs, and the stories we inherit. Preserving heritage is a way of staying connected to those roots and allowing what has shaped us to live on through us and beyond us.“
Marko Stojanović, Founder and Board Member
„What we inherit is not simply a memory of the past but a responsibility we carry today. I believe we truly preserve heritage when we understand it, respect it, and pass it on to those who come after us.”
Bogomir Marković, Attorney and Legal Advisor
„Heritage cannot be preserved through good intentions alone. It also requires responsibility and a framework that protects what matters. I believe that law, when it serves the community, can be an important part of preserving cultural and spiritual heritage for generations to come.”
Biljana Vučinić, Digital Communications and Web Platform Coordinator
„Technology can help bring stories back from the edge of being forgotten. The digital world gives us new ways to make heritage accessible to more people while keeping the human story and its authentic trace at the center.“
We seek new ways to explore, preserve, and bring cultural heritage into the present.
